The Scottish Open will be held at Kilmarnock on the 2nd April. This is not a masters competition but is open to all lifters. The weigh-in and start time are not known yet as entry forms have not been sent out. You can email the WLS secretary at jimferguson2@tiscali.co.uk for information.A great well done to the six men and one woman who competed at the British Masters in Lilleshall on the 19th-20th March. There were 5 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Their results can be seen on the results page. The whole competition results can be see by clicking this link to the British Masters web site. http://www.britishmasterswl.com13th February was the Scottish Masters competition at Palace of Arts in Glasgow. 16 Scottish masters entered and 14 competed. The event went very well and many thanks to all who helped with the set up, running and clear up of the competition. Results are on the RESULTS page. Please email scotmasters@hotmail.com if you want one.The World Maters will be hosted by Cyprus from 29th August to 3rd September 2011.The British Masters will be held at Lilleshall again on the 19th and 20th March 2011. Entries have to be in by 27th February 2011. The entry form is on the ENTRY FORMS page for anyone to print off.Two Masters lifted at the Scottish Championships in Pitlochry on Sunday 12th December. They were Colin Hannah and Alan Davidson. They both lifted in the 77 kilo class. Colin did a 175 total and Alan a 190 total. Well done to both of them. A DVD of this competition is available from Gary Swanney for a cost of £3.The Uk Masters held at Kilwinning, Scotland went very well. Fantastic lifting from Peter Kirkbride at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi saw him win Silver. A 144kg snatch and 189kg clean and jerk had him in the lead right up to the last lift of his weight class. Well done Peter, and well done to Charlie Hamilton and Jim Holland who were with him every step of the way.A very special congratulations to Jean McConville who broke three world records at the 2010 World Masters in Poland. She got the world record for Snatch, Clean and Jerk and Total.The seven strong Scottish team of five men and two women that competed at the 2010 World Masters in Poland did very well.
